Remote Monitoring System
Today with the cost of electricity soaring high industries are trying
all the means to save it by deploying good or malpractice. Of all the means
theft of electricity is a major one that is nagging the profitability of the
electricity boards. The need of time is to keep track of the electricity
usage.
Remote Monitoring System (RMS) has been developed for this specific
purpose. It is capable of Data Transmissions to and from at Remote
Locations.
Functions:
a.  The Remote monitoring system detects frauds in meter reading and
billing system.
b.  Remotely monitor energy consumption and send warning incase of
theft or fraud at customer's end.
c.  Device driven system capable of storing data & sending it to
various centers for analysis and billing from the customer site.
d.  Send alerts to centers incase of fraud or theft.
e.  Automatic billing for energy.
f.  Disconnection or reconnection of energy from the supply resource
on payment & non-payment of bills.
USP:
a.  Only system that has GSM based SMS for communication, which can
be customized for Radio Truncking.
b.  Helps keeping track of the electricity usage over large
geographical areas.
c.  Keeping track of the electricity usage on a real time basis
reducing the chances of electricity theft.
d.  To keep a check on (the many factories) consumption of Energy.
e.  To Keep a check on the Multi office locations of a company
individually and remotely.
f.  To monitor and conserve energy & water across the country/cities
ensuring savings.
g.  To use both these softwares for conserving power & water units
established across, factories and projects resulting in huge savings.
Technical Specifications:
a.  The Remote Metering System consists of a remote unit(s) which
receives the signals generated by the electronic meters         fitted with a GSM
Modem & proprietary PCB at the consumer's premises.
b.  A two way communication system between the meter and the SEB
control center through the remote metering system             makes it easier for the
center to receive data relating to energy consumed as recorded by the meter
and send appropriate       control signals to the meters.
c.  Data can be sent or received whenever needed.
Benefits:
a.  Downloading of all relevant data from the meter installed at
consumer premises.
b.  Transform the data into signals suitable for transmission
through the GSM communication media.
c.  Transmit info to information centers of State Electricity Boards
based on the priority.
d.  Transform the data into a format suitable for report generation,
invoicing control from the computer system at any of above     information
centers.
e.  Also transform the data into a format suitable for management
information, load monitoring, load surveying, evaluation of       tamper attempts
etc.
f.  Alarm the above information centers in a selectable cycle, in
case of occurrence of deliberate tampering, pre specified             parameters of
system anomaly/variations/irregularity, initiated from the CMU itself
without waiting for the interrogation from     information centers.
g.  The system will have security features to prevent any access by
unauthorized personnel to the data, hardware & software.
h.  The system will have security features for restricting SEB
personnel from performing activities which are not within their
        authorization.
i.  The communication links between CMU & Boards various information
centers will be fully encrypted as per relevant Data           Encryption Standards
(DES).
j.  Security of data in transit will be provided by using standard
protocols, error detection and correction protocols & security         measures.
